Last week, WWE announced the full team for The Men’s SmackDown Squad at Survivor Series consisting of team co-captains, The Miz & Daniel Bryan, who will be joined by Rey Mysterio, Samoa Joe & Shane McMahon. McMahon’s inclusion was somewhat of a surprise as previous rumors indicated that it would be Randy Orton taking that spot.
We now know that Daniel Bryan has been taken out of The Team and he is now The WWE Champion after defeating AJ Styles at last night’s episode of SmackDown LIVE, which means that he will be facing WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series. With that being said, Daniel Bryan was replaced by Jeff Hardy at last night’s episode of SmackDown LIVE. PWInsider.com reports that within the last 48 hours, sources have told them that it is still expected that Orton will be announced in the match at Shane’s expense and the speculation is that perhaps someone from RAW may take out Shane before Sunday, allowing Orton to step up and fill the vacancy. It is also possible with WWE constantly changing their plans that everything has been changed and Orton will be sitting on the sidelines while Shane wrestles.
