 PIERZ PIONEERS

Head Coach: Mark Jensen

Enrollment: 329

Section: 7A

The Pioneers posted very impressive dual meet marks of 28-5 last season along with a section championship. Back from that team nine section place winners, including five state qualifiers and six others with a great deal of experience. Despite the graduation of four very good seniors, including two state qualifiers look for this team to challenge those great dual meet marks from last season. They have their former veteran coach at the helm and Coach Waltman did an awesome job during his time as the head coach. Look for the Pioneers to challenge for a conference and section honors. They could also be in the hunt for some hardware at the state tourney. Brandon Sullivan, Chris Ortman, Evan Woitalla, Riley Smude and Curtis Brisk to be their key leaders thru out the season.

The Huskers had their best season in recent years as they posted very  good dual meet marks of 26-3 along with Tri-Conference Champions and section runner up honors. Despite the graduation of four very good seniors including two state qualifiers look for the Huskers to make a strong challenge for both conference and section honors. KIMBALL CUBS

Head Coach: Mike Schindler

Enrollment: 197

Section: 5A

The Cubs posted 21-13 dual meet numbers; when you compare those to the previous two seasons that doesn’t look real good. But they are actually awesome numbers considering the graduates the year before and the injuries they went thru last season. Back from the team that was Tri-Conference Champions and section runner up are seven section place winners including two state place winners and seven others with a great deal of experience. Despite the graduation of four very good seniors including three state qualifiers they could challenge those dual meet marks of last season. They should be in the hunt for possible conference honors and make a strong challenge in this section dual meet campaign. Quinten Berres, Blane Tschida and Austin Schiefelbein should be their key leaders thru out the season.

Section 5A

The Eagles posted 7-9 dual meet marks last season, back from that team are four section place winners, including two state qualifiers and seven others with a great deal of experience. They did graduate three seniors including two state qualifiers, despite that, look for this team to be a dark horse in this conference and to make a strong challenge for a top four spot in this section dual meet campaign. The Eagles should make a big improvement on those dual meet marks if they can avoid injuries. Cain Renner, Luke Kuechle and Taylor Donnay should be their key leaders thru out the season.

 BELGRADE BROOTEN ELROSA JAGUARS

Head Coach: Brian Friedrichs

Enrollment: 166

Section: 5A

The Jaguars had a very good season last year; as they posted 14-5 dual meet marks; despite some of the injuries and issue that they had to deal with. Back from that team are four section place winners, including one state qualifier and six others with a great deal of experience. They did graduate eight very good seniors last year, so they will be hard pressed to improve on those very good dual meet marks. However look for their younger wrestlers to step it up and help lead them to a successful season. They could possible challenge for a top four sport in this section dual meet campaign, which could be a very balanced one with several teams seeking a top four spot. Josey Tensen, Alex Schramel and Colby Schramel should be their key leaders thru out the season.

The Eagles posted 14-6 dual meet marks last season, back from that team are six section place winners and four others with a great deal of experience. With the graduation of 2 section place winners; look for this team to improve on those dual meet marks.
