Lashley Turns Heel, Cena’s Next Match, Trademarks for Mysterio

Ever since he made his return to WWE earlier this year, Bobby Lashley has been working in the role of a good guy. However, Lashley is in the process of receiving a bit of a shakeup at the moment, as evidenced by the decision to have 205 Live Superstar Lio Rush serve as his manager starting a few weeks back. During Raw last night, Bobby Lashley continued to change by turning heel. Following a promo from Lio Rush, Lashley defeated Kevin Owens in a match via distraction before going after the latter’s injured knee even though the match was already over. This definitely seems to signal a brand new attitude for Bobby Lashley, who previously worked as a heel for a while during his time in Impact Wrestling.

During WWE’s Super Show-Down event in Melbourne, Australia from this past weekend, John Cena competed in his first wrestling match in weeks when he and Bobby Lashley teamed up to defeat Kevin Owens and Elias in a tag team match. Cena did not appear on Raw last night as he is back in China to continue working on the upcoming “Project X” movie, but Cena’s new WWE match will be taking place in only a few more weeks. WWE announced on Raw last night that Cena has qualified for the upcoming World Cup tournament. He now joins Kurt Angle as the only confirmed participants in the tournament so far, and the WWE World Cup will take place during Crown Jewel on November 2nd.

WWE fans have been eagerly anticipating seeing the return of Rey Mysterio ever since he made a guest appearance in the men’s Royal Rumble match earlier this year. Several reports made over the months have claimed that WWE wanted to sign him, and it was finally announced days ago that Mysterio will be making his WWE return during SmackDown’s 1000th episode on October 16th. Prior to his WWE return, PWInsider has noted that Mysterio has submitted trademarks for “Greatest Mask of All Time” and “G.M.O.A.T.” These will likely be used for merchandising purposes once Mysterio does come back. Expect to see Rey Mysterio bring a fresh new look with him during his WWE return next Tuesday night.
