The upcoming documentary, Wrestling With Chyna, the motion picture the former WWE Attitude Era star was filming at the time of her death, released an official trailer Thursday.
Chyna rose to prominence with the WWF in 1997 as a founding member of the Degeneration X stable, the first female enforcer character in the promotion, a WWE Women’s Champion and the first and only female performer to hold the Intercontinental Championship, which she won twice. She is still the only female to ever appear in the Royal Rumble and King of the Ring events, and be the No. 1 contender to the WWF Championship. She also scored singles match victories over male wrestling legends Triple H, Chris Jericho, Jeff Jarrett and Kurt Angle.
Chyna also had an eventful personal life, filming an infamous sex tape with fellow D-X member X-Pac, whose real name is Sean Waltman, appearing in Playboy twice and later becoming an adult film star.
Thursday marked the one-year anniversary of her passing. Chyna, whose real name was Joanie Laurer, was discovered dead at her Redondo Beach, California, home after overdosing on a mixture of alcohol, prescription anxiety medication, painkillers and sleeping aids.
