The Centre has dispatched hundred additional companies of paramilitary forces to the state amid a massive crackdown on separatists in Jammu and Kashmir. On Friday, separatist Yasin Malik was arrested by the forces.
After a notice was sent by Home Ministry in New Delhi Friday evening, 100 additional companies of paramilitary soldiers were airlifted to Srinagar, where the Jammu and Kashmir police and existing security forces worked through the night rolling out their deployment plan for the next few days.

A company of soldiers typically consists of between 80 to 100 soldiers, depending upon the kind of paramilitary. Going by the last night’s order by the Ministry of Home Affairs, the 100 companies would see around 10,000 soldiers airlifted to Srinagar.
