Residents Of PoK Allege That A ‘Water-War’ Has Been Waged Against Them

Residents of Muzzaffarbad in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir are staging protests because they have been deprived of water, reported ANI. The Neelum river between India and Pakistan meets the Jhelum river in Pakistan city of Muzaffarabad. Now, a video has come to light which reveals that Pakistan has declared a ‘water war’ on the people of Muzaffarabad by diverting the water flow to Punjab province.

Protests are taking place all across the city against this move taken by Islamabad. A local resident complained that an elaborate scheme has diverted the flow of fresh water from the mountains to Punjab and now the locals are left with only sewage waste, silt and sand. This process has dried up the river even during the ongoing monsoon season.
